Joe Seemiller, SWLC
Veteran, First Responder, Adolescent, and Adult therapist
Joe earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Washington State University. He joins Sweetgrass Psychological Services as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Candidate. As a proud member of the local veteran community, Joe brings a profound personal and professional understanding to his practice. He has significant experience supporting military veterans and first responders, and he is equally passionate about working alongside older adults and adolescents as they navigate their own unique life challenges.
Joe’s clinical focus is centered on trauma, PTSD, and grief work. He believes in a non-directive, highly collaborative approach, honoring the fact that every individual's path to healing is different. To best support his clients, Joe tailors his approach to each person's specific situation and needs, drawing from a versatile, evidence-based blend of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT).
In the therapy room, Joe strives to create a safe, compassionate space where clients feel truly seen and understood without judgment. Whether he is walking alongside a first responder processing complex trauma, an adolescent navigating life transitions, or an older adult working through grief, Joe is dedicated to helping his clients find healing, resilience, and a renewed sense of peace.
Joe see's clients at our Whitefish office and virtually through Telehealth. He works under the supervision of our Clinical Director Gaelen Engler and can see clients with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Allegiance, Cigna, First Choice Network and Self Pay.
