Community Resources
While there are many things psychotherapy can help with, the path to mental wellness often includes stops at other professional supports along the way. We have compiled a list of our favorite practitioners in the Flathead Valley in addition to a list of resources should you need additional support beyond what we (or they) can offer.

This modality reduces stress and depression by releasing endorphins, decreasing the stress hormone cortisol, and improving the body’s circulation.

Medication Management
Lots of folks find it useful to utilized medication in addition to psychotherapy to treat their anxiety, depression, and other symptoms. We have partnered with Brittany Eppard to help our folks get the most out of their treatment.
Brittany Eppard and Heather Whitney
Chiropractor
Because we carry stress and anxiety in our bodies, it is common to simultaneously experience headaches, stiffness, trouble sleeping and muscle tension. In turn, these symptoms can then make our anxiety and depression even harder to cope with. Chiropractors are generally trained in a mind-body approach to working with people, and are well suited to treat not just the physical symptoms you may be experiencing, but are a resource for improving your nutritional, mental, and overall well-being as well.
Intimate Partner Violence
At Sweetgrass, we work with victims of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and domestic violence. We also partner with the Abbie Shelter who provides an excellent array of resources for folks who need more than just mental health help in this arena. Massage Therapy
If you are wondering how massage may improve your mental health, having a massage or two will likely wipe any doubt away. Finding a massage therapist that is the “right fit,” who your body can relax with and open up to, is essential. Once you’ve found your person, regular massages can work wonders on alleviating the many physical symptoms that depression, trauma, stress and anxiety can wreak on our bodies. Massage therapists are generally incredibly open and supportive to meeting you where you’re at, with as gentle or firm a touch as you’re seeking, and a willingness to focus on whatever you personally feel needs the most TLC.

New to therapy?
HERE’S HOW TO GET STARTED.
People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. Usually, they don’t feel as if they’re as happy as they can be, they’re troubled by things in their past, or they find themselves unable to be the person they wish to be in their relationships, work, or life.
