Anna joined Sweetgrass in 2026 after moving back to her hometown of Whitefish, following her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Central Washington University.  Upon graduating, Anna worked in community mental health at an organization primarily serving individuals experiencing substance use disorders. This experience gave Anna endless opportunities to work with adults and couples navigating a wide array of challenges. 

Anna believes that therapy should be a place where you can show up exactly as you are without fear of judgment. At her core she is a person-centered therapist, and she believes that you know yourself and your life better than anyone else. Anna takes the time to understand her clients as the individuals they are, and she tailors her practice to the person that she is sitting with, rather than leaning on one specific approach. Some of the theories and modalities that Anna turns to are drawn from CBT, DBT, and attachment theory. Anna’s work is also deeply trauma-informed, recognizing the ways our past experiences shape how we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world.

Anna is passionate about helping people through the difficult seasons of their lives, yet she honors that being vulnerable and with a new person can feel intimidating.  Therefore, Anna works intentionally to build trust and connection with her clients, who regularly share how genuinely cared for and comfortable they feel in her presence.  Anna believes that feeling alone or misunderstood is often at the heart of suffering, and she strives to be a dependable person when her clients may otherwise have few people to turn to. She has found success in helping people heal from trauma, navigate major life transitions, manage anxiety and difficult emotions, understand themselves better, and develop practical tools that help create real change in one’s life.

Wherever you are in your journey, Anna wants you to know that you don’t have to figure everything out on your own. She would be honored to walk alongside you on your path towards growth and change.

Anna see’s clients at both our Whitefish and Columbia Falls offices, and accepts Medicaid, BCBS, Allegiant, First Choice Network, Cigna and Aetna insurances.
