Julie, SWLC

Child, adolescent, and individual therapist

Julie earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Montana. She joined Sweetgrass as a Social Work Licensure Candidate.

Clients who work with Julie will be taken by both her seriousness and her humor, her levity and down-to-Earth nature. She is an excellent listener and isn’t scared to be wrong, take risks, and meet people wherever they are in their mental wellness path. She’s approachable, calm, and incredibly empathic. As a therapist, Julie works hard to listen with intention rather than listening just to respond or give feedback. Julie believes that people are the experts on themselves and that most people have everything they need within them to be well; sometimes they just need reminders, support, insight, or a companion on the journey toward embracing that. She has worked with folks of all ages but particularly loves working with middle schoolers and anyone going through a change in their life circumstances. She also enjoys working with those who struggle with alcoholism.

We understand that not all individuals wish to work with a newbie to the profession of therapy but we believe that anyone who gives working with Julie a chance will find that she is skilled, hard working, and incredible lovely to be with. Julie works under the supervision of Jordan Gilbert, LCSW and is supported wholeheartedly by the rest of the Sweetgrass team.
