In the Community
Here at Sweetgrass, we believe that it takes a village to raise a child and a community to sustain us. We work to ensure that our clients have access to the things we know work to improve mental health, beyond the walls of our offices. Here are a few of the ways we are involved.
The Whitefish Trail connects the people of Whitefish and its neighboring communities to outdoor adventure, recreational opportunities, fitness, and fresh air. We support Legacy Partners in their efforts to create community in support of such vital access. Sweetgrass has made a three year commitment to provide funding for trail maintenance on a section of trail by Woods Lake. We hope you enjoy the trails as much as we do!
Sweetgrass Psychological Services is a proud sponsor of Public Radio in Montana. With children's programming, critical journalism, and insightful explorations into a vast array of topics, MTPR provides Montanans with an opportunity to learn, grow, and enjoy. As a sustaining member, Sweetgrass helps ensure this programming continues for years to come.
The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation works to connect volunteers with wild spaces as stewards of the second largest Wilderness area in the US. Volunteer vacations allow hundreds of volunteers annually to get their hands dirty while ensuring access to wild spaces for countless other Montanans. Sara serves as a Board Member and Sweetgrass has provided sponsorship and runs trips through the BMWF for teenage girls in the summer.
Sweetgrass Psychological Services and the members of the Flathead Valley are so fortunate to have an organization such as the Abbie Shelter. Our office manager, Jen, helps man the Violence-Free Crisis Line and Sweetgrass proudly supports the Abbie Shelter through financial donations.
We believes in the value of outdoor recreation, especially in the winter when the doom and gloom can get even the heartiest people down. We support FOFAC's mission to help our community enjoy the white wide open spaces safely.
Protect our Winters is an organization of professional athletes with the mission of mobilizing the outdoor community in the spirit of addressing climate change. Because Whitefish depends on winter for much of its tourism revenue and because its residents depend on powder turns for smiles all winter long, Sweetgrass has supported POW annually.
Kara Stansbury not only provides the clients of Sweetgrass with thoughtful, compassionate psychological care, she also brings her sweetness, laughter, and insight to yoga practitioners in Whitefish through her classes at Yoga Hive. Click below to see her schedule.
"In the Wilderness lies the preservation of the Earth." Montana Wilderness Association works hard to ensure that Montanans have access to fishing streams and hunting trails, camping spots, and peace and quiet anytime. MWA knows the value of wild spaces and understands how our collective and individual mental health is improved when we are able to be outside. Sweetgrass has sponsored MWA because we know that our people are happier and healthier when they have wild spaces and places to visit.
